The audio ports are for the sound that your computer creates. Your speakers plug into the first hole. The 2nd is the line out channel. If you wanted to record something off your computer into a stereo you would get a double ended headphone cable and plug one into the line out on the computer and plug the other end into the stereo. The 3rd hole is for the microphone.
